The trend of increasing number of requests for free legal aid continues. In the period 01.01.2016 – 31.12.2016. 2.774 legal aid services were provided for 943 beneficiaries (primarily women but also men). Most of provided services were related to the field of family law (72%) and social rights (20%). As part of the program for the protection of victims of discrimination, 55 people received free legal aid. Center initiated 20 cases in which it found the existence of discrimination.
More than 76% of the total number of clients experienced some form of violence in their life. The most frequent form of violence is combination (physical, psychological, and economic). In 3 of the 4 beneficiaries, who during their life have experienced some of the above mentioned forms of violence, it was noted that they have experienced violence through mobile telephony and/or Internet.
