33% of women at age of 15 have been exposed to some form of violence. 80% of perpetrators of sexual violence against children are persons known to the victim. In order to point out the problem and the need for changes to the law, throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina today are held street actions in the framework of the campaign “Stop violence and sexual violence against women and children in BiH”. The campaign carries the slogan „Silence is not gold“.
Members and volunteers of the Center of Legal Assistance for Women marked a campaign through division of badges, balloons, pens with a message, and signing a petition for increase the penalties for perpetrators of violence against children and women and harmonization of BiH criminal legislation with the Convention of the Council of Europe and the UN. The campaign is being carried out under the program of organizations of civil society in BiH, conducted by the Association of Women for Women and partner organizations.
