Today in Srebrenica, we launched Module I – Human Rights, Women’s Rights and Equality as part of the project “A Step Forward for a Better Future: Women and Youth – The Future of Srebrenica”, bringing together 22 women from the Srebrenica area.
The first day was dedicated to learning and exchanging experiences about what human and women’s rights mean in everyday life, how we recognize equality and inequality, and why having the same right does not always mean having an equal opportunity to exercise that right. Through dialogue, practical examples and group work, participants connected rights with their own experiences, identified the barriers women face, and opened up important questions relevant to their community. It is through sharing experiences, learning from one another, and creating a space where every voice is heard that we build the foundations for greater participation of women and joint action within the local community.
The activity was implemented within the project “Bridges of Trust: Advancing Social Cohesion and Resilience in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (SCORE), funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
