The second day of Module I – Human Rights, Women’s Rights and Equality was marked by dynamic work, open exchange and mutual learning. Our project, “A Step Forward for a Better Future: Women and Youth – The Future of Srebrenica,” has taken another important step forward.
We placed a particular focus on the LNOB principle – Leave No One Behind, through which we explored concrete risks that may lead to certain women and other people in the community being excluded, left without support, or having fewer opportunities to exercise their rights. We discussed how place of residence, economic situation, age, family responsibilities, access to services and other life circumstances can affect whether rights are truly equally accessible to everyone.
It was a genuine pleasure to work with these women, get to know them and listen to their experiences, perspectives and ideas. Their openness, energy and willingness to learn from one another made these two days especially valuable. We are concluding the first module with many new questions, ideas and motivation to continue our work.
And the best sign that we are on the right path? The participants are already eagerly looking forward to the second module!
