Second Training Module: Safety and Resilience in the Community: Trust, Cooperation and Responding to Divisions

As part of the second module of the project “A Step Forward for a Better Future: Women and Youth – The Future of Srebrenica,” a two-day Workshop 2 – Safety and Resilience in the Community: Trust, Cooperation and Responding to Divisions was held on 22 and 23 September 2026, in cooperation with the Association of Returnee Women “Podrinjka” Srebrenica.

The workshop brought together 23 participants, who actively engaged through discussion, practical exercises and joint work in exploring issues that are important for the safety and resilience of the community.

We discussed how trust is built, why cooperation is essential for overcoming divisions, and how women can contribute to strengthening relationships, solidarity and collective action in their local communities.

The participants themselves brought particular value to the workshop through their experiences, openness, ideas and willingness to actively engage in discussions about the challenges their communities face. Their energy, openness and active contribution made the workshop a space for genuine connection, mutual learning and joint reflection on future activities within the community.

It is especially encouraging that the participants clearly expressed their desire for this work to continue beyond the workshop itself, through further networking, cooperation and community-based activities.

Because a more resilient community begins where there is space for dialogue, mutual trust and a willingness to act together.

Location: Srebrenica
Participants: 23

The activity was implemented within the project “Bridges of Trust: Advancing Social Cohesion and Resilience in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (SCORE), funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
