The Center of Women’s Rights, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of the Central Bosnia Canton, organized a training session for police officers of the Ministry of Interior of the Central Bosnia Canton. The training represents a continuation of ongoing work with police officers aimed at strengthening the response to violence and improving the protection of women.
We would like to highlight several reflections shared by police officers:
“From our practical experience, we know that the presence of a Person of Trust significantly improves our work in protecting victims. The contact list of helpers, provided through the Ministry of Interior of the Central Bosnia Canton, has proven to be concrete and highly valuable support in the field.” – Police Station Travnik
“The fight against violence requires joint action from all of us. While, as a society, we focus on other people’s lives, violence remains hidden because we ignore it. Women increasingly lose trust in institutions, which makes them less likely to report violence and seek protection.” – Police Station Bugojno
The Head of the Education Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Central Bosnia Canton emphasized that trainings such as this one, for which all participants expressed only words of praise, are rare.
“It is especially important to us that young colleagues are not only learning, but also questioning their own attitudes.” – Head of the Education Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Central Bosnia Canton
