As members of the Coordination Body of the Zenica-Doboj Canton responsible for the development and implementation of the Programme of Measures for the Prevention and Combating of Domestic Violence and Violence against Women and Children, we participated last week in a workshop for representatives of the violence prevention coordination teams from the Zenica-Doboj and Central Bosnia Cantons, organized by the Gender Center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The workshop focused on the review of the Draft Framework Protocol for Action in Cases of Domestic Violence and Violence against Women in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Immediately after the workshop, members of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Coordination Team convened an urgent meeting to further discuss the proposed Protocol and harmonize comments and recommendations. Clearly defined and coordinated response procedures are essential to ensuring timely and adequate action by all relevant institutions, preventing violence, and reducing the risk of its escalation.
Only through coordinated and responsible action can we strengthen the protection system and enhance the safety of women, children, and all persons exposed to violence.
