It’s April 19, 2023 in Bijeljina. 3rd Forum was held on the topic “Compensation of non-material damages for victims of human trafficking in the framework of criminal proceedings – a step towards good practices”. The forum brought together practitioners and representatives of institutions of justice, social protection and NGOs with the Safe House.
Through this form of expert consultation, relevant data were collected that illustrate the situation and argue for the necessity of immediate intervention of all actors involved in advocacy processes to ensure the protection of the rights of victims of human trafficking in criminal proceedings, i.e. easier access to compensation for victims of the crime of human trafficking in criminal proceedings.
We would like to thank our exceptional presenters who presented the situation in practice, each from their own point of view, first of all Dragica Glušac, prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Srpska, Olga Lola Ninković – psychologist, head of the Department for support to the witnesses of the District Court in Banja Luka, Aleksandra Marin-Diklić, the Head of the Department for monitoring the realization of children’s rights at the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and representatives of the Center for Women’s Rights.
We would like to thank all participants, representatives of institutions from Bijeljina, Zvornik, Višegrad, Pale for their contribution and willingness to support activities aimed at improving the rights and position of victims of human trafficking.
